An overgrown garden is rarely the result of one bad summer. It happens a foot at a time — a bramble runner here, a self-seeded sycamore there — until one day the back fence is unreachable and the whole thing feels like someone else's problem. This is the work we specialise in, and it is not the work we quietly avoid.
We take on plots that have not been touched in years: chest-high growth, ivy that has pulled down trellis, buddleia rooted into brickwork, gardens where the previous owner's shed is somewhere under there. Probate properties, rental handovers, gardens that got away from someone who was unwell — we see all of it, and none of it surprises us.
What matters on a job like this is method. Cutting randomly at the middle of a jungle makes a mess and wastes a day. We clear systematically from an edge, stack and remove as we go, and keep checking what is underneath before we cut — because there is very often a path, a patio or a border in there worth saving.

Step by step, so you know exactly what happens and in what order.

Photos or a visit
Two or three photos from a back door or upstairs window usually tell us most of what we need — depth of growth, access, whether there are trees involved. For larger or awkward plots we will come and look properly, at no cost.

A fixed price and a realistic day count
We tell you what it will cost as one figure, and how many days it will take. Overgrown clearance is the job most likely to be underquoted by the hour, which is exactly why we do not price it that way.

Cut back in stages, from an edge
We start at a boundary and work in, sheeting down and barrowing out as we go rather than making one enormous pile. That keeps the site safe to work in and lets us spot anything worth keeping before it gets cut.

Roots, stumps and the ground itself
Cutting the top off a bramble buys you about six weeks. We take growth out at root level where we can, and grind or dig stumps where they matter, so the clearance actually holds.

Waste gone, ground handed back
Everything we cut leaves with us to a licensed transfer station. You get a level, walkable, empty garden and an honest view of what it could become next.

Almost certainly not. Overgrown gardens are the core of what we do and we regularly clear plots that have been left a decade or more. The only genuine limits are access and protected trees — and both of those we will tell you about upfront rather than on the day.
A typical neglected rear garden is one to two days. Larger plots, or jobs involving significant woody growth and stumps, run to three or four. We give you a day count with the quote so you can plan around it.
Not if they are dealt with properly. Cutting the top growth off is a short-term fix, so we take bramble and nettle out at root level wherever the ground allows. Some regrowth from deep root fragments is normal in the first season and is easily managed with one follow-up visit.
Yes, and they are often the ones causing the most friction with neighbours or the council. Alleys, side returns and shared access paths are all straightforward for us.
Yes, as long as we can get to the garden — usually via a side gate. Plenty of our clearance work happens while customers are at work. We will send photos when the job is done.
