A path nobody could see
The brick path down the side of the cottage had disappeared under years of growth. Cleared back to the stone, the rockery, the steps and the path are all usable again.

Waist-high grass over a buried wall
Long grass had swallowed the curved retaining wall and most of the lawn with it. Cut back to ground level, the beds cleared to bare soil and the paving swept.

Ivy taken off the boundary
Ivy and overgrown hedge had swallowed the fence and most of the light with it. Cut back to the fence line, the border and the view across the fields came back.

A new boundary the length of the drive
The old boundary had rotted and the growth behind it was coming through. Cleared, bagged and replaced with closeboard fencing run the full length of the drive.

An open front garden, enclosed
An open frontage onto the pavement, with nothing to mark where the garden ended. Closeboard fencing set along the boundary and returned down the side.

From long grass to sandstone
Long grass and straggling shrubs had taken the whole plot. Cleared to bare ground and rebuilt with a sandstone patio, timber-sleeper raised beds, a new lawn and a gravel border of clipped topiary.
